Four members of the Ashburne Veterinary Hospital nursing team gathered for a weekend workshop at Rawdon’s Hotel & Estate in Nottingham Road in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands recently.
Tracy Chalker, Devika Moodley, Elsa van Lill and Stanford Tavarwisa attended the function themed “Lifetime Health – Start at the Very Beginning”.
The main focus of the event was how nurses could do the best for their patients and their “pet parents” from the word go to ensure good future relationships with all the stakeholders in the life of a pet – from the home to the clinic.
Ashburne veterinary nurses attended integrated lectures that included case studies, discussions on nutrition and a wet lab with topics covering conditions and issues affecting young patients such as toxicities, bite wounds, care and needs in hospital and setting up pets for success.
Sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition and MSD Animal Health, the workshop was an accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) course.
