With a love for making things with his hands - such as furniture - it comes as little surprise that Dr Klaus Schoeman designed and built the composite cages that house the animals at Ashburne Veterinary Hospital.
It's not only making things that makes the practice owner tick - he also enjoys travelling, reading and has an interest in psychology and neurology.
Klaus qualified as a vet in 1990 and has general experience in medicine with an interest in surgery, orthopaedics and wildlife exotics.
He is married and has three children, two sons at university and a daughter at home. They keep six dogs, three cats and “lots of chickens”.
His most interesting case was “removing a lady’s stockings and beaded G-string from her Great Dane who took them off the washing line!”
